TOMATO PIZZA/SPAGHETTI SAUCE
This is my favorite way to make a simple, but delicious tomato sauce to use for pizza or spaghetti . In the mid to late summer I buy pounds of tomatoes from the local farmers, make my own tomato sauce & preserve it for the fall and winter months by using the water bath method. Of course store bought sauce will work, but nothing beats the taste of your own tomato sauce made from garden fresh tomatoes.
This recipe makes enough sauce for one large pizza or one pound of spaghetti. You could also double the recipe and reserve half of it for a later meal. My favorite way to use this sauce is with spaghetti squash which is a great low carb and gluten free alternative to traditional pasta. I have several upcoming blogs with spaghetti squash recipes that I believe you and your family will enjoy.
