Homemade Strawberry & Chocolate Milk

Homemade Strawberry & Chocolate Milk

Made with Homemade Nut Milk!

Growing up we often had Nesquik chocolate and strawberry powders in our pantry, it was so delicious when mixed with fresh milk. As as adult I still love the taste of these Nesquik drinks but for many reasons I haven’t been drinking them for many many years. The Nesquik version doesn’t have any real strawberry or chocolate in it, it’s just filled with sugars, preservatives and chemicals. If you make your own version of the Nesquik drinks, it will have great nutritional value from the real strawberries and cacao powder and DIY nut milks also have much more healthy nutrients. Also you can control the amount of sweeteners that are added to the drinks, less sugar and no preservatives is a win win for me.

Making some homemade strawberry or chocolate milk for a special Breakfast Birthday treat for your children or yourself is always fun, but there are other ways to use it. My husband used the chocolate milk for a coffee creamer, so delish! The strawberry milk could be used as the liquid of a healthy smoothie, add some greens and a small banana. The bananas and strawberry flavors help disguise the flavors of the greens.

This is two very easy simple recipes and I hope this will show you that it doesn’t have to take much time to make some easy swaps to give yourself and your family much healthier options when it comes to treats. As always thanks for visiting my 2nd favorite place, Emma’s Daily Bread. Cheers to a Healthy Day in your Kitchen.

Homemade Strawberry & Chocolate Milk

Cuisine Dairy milk alternatives
Servings 2 Cups

Ingredients

  • Ingredients For Chocolate Milk
  • 2 Cups coconut milk Or use your favorite nut milk
  • 2 TBSP Cacao Powder
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 TBSP Maple Syrup
  • Ingredients For Strawberry Milk
  • 1.5 Cups coconut milk Or any one of your favorite nut milk
  • 1/2 Cup Strawberry Puree
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 TBSP Honey

Instructions

  • Instructions for the chocolate milk are quite simple. Place all ingredients in a high speed blender, blend on high for at least one minute. Drink right away or store in a mason jar in the refrigerator. This chocolate milk is also delicious to use as a coffee creamer.
  • The instructions for strawberry milk is a little more complicated. I used Frozen strawberries to make the puree. You may use either fresh or frozen strawberries, you will need enough to make 1/2 cup strawberry puree. Allow strawberries to completely unthaw and blend strawberries in a high speed blender along with the nut milk of choice and honey. Pour in a mason jar and either drink it right away or store in the refrigerator.
  • These drinks won't be as brightly colored as the nesquik drinks from your childhood, but not only are they much healthier I believe the flavors are much better to. I can actually taste the strawberry and chocolate flavors and not just the sugar.
